Oy Vey–The Aches and Pains

DSCN0885

Next month, I turn 61. Which means this is my 12th month of being 60.  Who knew  last January what being 60 would mean to
me???

(I’ll get into the whole “mustache” scenario later in this post….)

I went through 2012 just like any year – slipping into January 2013 easily and quickly ( can you believe  how fast time goes at this age???)

I met January 31st like an innocent babe!

Then February 1st came… It has been downhill from there.

I have problems exercising because I’ve hurt my knee.

I cut my hair short because I hurt my elbow and it’s hard to “blow” it out.

I had to give up the occasional glass of wine – or heaven forbid I drink a margarita with my Mexican food. – Can damage the liver you know.

The reason I have to protect the liver is because of the meds I take to lower the cholesterol – from a lifetime of “farm” cookin’ which includes all the B.A.D. stuff for you BUT actually has some flavor…

With healthy eating, I at least don’t see the numbers on the scale creep up (anymore) but it’s not moving the other way either. (too bad weight can't go as quickly time flies!!)

And the mustache??? (see above picture)  How is it one can go to bed one night and wake up the next morning with gasp hair growing on ones face……

except -

My eyebrows. They of course no longer have much hair…. I wear them under my nose apparently.

Speaking of things being lower than they should - if it weren’t for good undergarments – well, I won’t go there.

Last evening we went out. And thanks to the “As Seen On TV” hair remover, the wonderful foundational garments, a couple of ibuprofen, I was lookin’ G.O.O.D.

We were enjoying the “Singing Quakers” at Friends University Christmas Concert and all of a sudden, my big toe started throbbing… ARE YOU KIDDING ME??

Now I can’t even wear heels..

I’m tellin’ ya – all you young ones out there… Get ready!
