Conflict

Those of you that know me - know I will go to almost any lengths to avoid conflict. I hate it. I've struggled with  the problem of wanting everyone to like me. My friend Deb Shirkey says "If everyone likes you, you're lying to someone." Hmmm. Makes sense.

Well, I've had a minor conflict because of my loyalty to another friend. Nothing too big, just enough to make me uncomfortable.

This is really all I have to say about it. Except the most important part - please pray for me.

  1. Well, thanks I AM HONORED to be quoted. And, remember my friend, as much as that is a TRUE QUOTE .. . it doesn't mean it HURTS any less when a conflict arises. It also doesn't mean that if a person who YOU WANT to like you DOESN"T like you - that it won't HURT - cuz it will. When I am hurting about things like that...I just remember - I need to be ok with two people: GOd and my husband...now I REALLY WANT to be ok with my kids too, and I typically AM - but BEYOND that small group - that is ALL I really have to WORRY about! :) SO hang in there, know you are AMAZING AND I AM SO GLAD YOU LIVE IN WICHITA AGAIN!!!!! I LOVE YOU!

I have come to realize I can't give everything to everyone...that would leave nothing for myself. And I am my own best friend, after my bestest friend, Bill! When I'm OK with myself, I seem to be OK with my friends. The old saying "you can't please all of the people all of the time" is certainly true. There will be times when words fitly spoken will be taken as words hatefully spoken and you won't even know it. And another old saying...your true friends are the ones who love you regardless....and they just bop you in the head when rough times come that might upset them. Look for those kinds of friends!
