I am one happy lady. A is taking a culinary class this semester and so tonight we were treated to a meal – prepared and served by A and his friend T. The recipe they used came from A’s class.
Not only did we get delicious food – They cleaned up after themselves!!
Stroganoff Sandwiches (recipe from A’s class)
3/4 Lb ground beef
2 green onions, chipped
1/2 C sour cream
1/2 tsp. Worcestershire Sauce
1/2 tsp. Garlic Powder
1/2 Loaf French Bread, cut in half horizontal
butter or margarine
1 Tomato, sliced
1/2 green pepper, cut into rings
2/3 C shredded Marble Jack Cheese
In skillet cook meat and onion until meat is browned, drain fat.
Stir in sour cream, Worcestershire sauce, and garlic powder. Heat through; do not boil.
Meanwhile, cut bread into half lengthwise. Place halves, spread lightly with butter or margarine, cut side up on baking sheet. Broil on low for 2-3 minutes. Watch your bread so it doesn’t burn.
Spread hot meat mixture on one piece of toasted bread. Halve tomato slices and green pepper rings. Arrange tomato and green pepper alternately atop meat mixture. Broil for 5 minutes. Sprinkle with cheese; and broil about 2 minutes longer. Slice to serve. Makes 4 servings.
