dear 1-inch-tall painted carousel pony, 

     you and your four friends have entertained my sobbing baby boy more than once.  as he watches you spin around and 'round and 'round, he reaches out his small hand to touch your brightly colored form. his tear-streamed face lights up and his frown turns into a large grin.  his furrowed brow relaxes, and my heart is filled with relief and gladness.  your imprisonment is not in vain.  you give happiness and fulfill curiosities of touch and movement.
